Chapter 1.5

Morticia and Jeena took each of Leena's arms and tried to tug her away when Leena shouted "don't you dare do that again Isha Mahajan, or I swear your secret's out!"

Immediately the laughter on Isha's face vanished and was replaced with a horror-struck expression. No one in the entire school had seen Isha Mahajan so scared. She pulled at Antara's elbow and walked away dragging her behind her as Leena swore.

"Whoa!" Jeena exclaimed. She had never seen anyone bite Isha back. The boys were always too busy ogling at her and the girls were too busy trying to flatter her so they could be popular too. "That was awesome. And what was up with the whole talking about me? Puh-lease do not tell me they were talking about the whole Zarif thing. And what secret were you talking about? You didn't tell us any secret."

Leena sighed and said in a tired voice "if I would have told you, it wouldn't have been a secret Jeena."

"But you can tell US!" Jeena said looking surprised that Leena would actually hold a secret what with her being the world's biggest blabber-mouth.

"No I can't Jeena. I promised her I wouldn't tell anyone. Try and understand that."

"But-"

"It's okay," Morticia cut in, "relax. The teacher must be coming. Let's just go and sit shall we?"

After second language they had Civic and after that, their last period was Geography. While they waited for the teacher to arrive, Jeena was still arguing with Morticia about Isha's secret when they heard a cheerful "Hi!"

The two of them looked up to find Zarif smiling at them, more toward Jeena, Morticia noticed. He then asked Jeena if she could give him her diary again. Since Jeena was not in the mood to dig into her bag to look for her diary, and that too for Zarif, she said that she had given it to Leena and that Morticia had it.

Morticia blinked twice before she realized what had happened. She knew perfectly well that Jeena had her diary today.

She mentally shook herself. What the heck, she thought to herself, it's just a diary. All I have to do is give him my diary and that's it. It's not such a big deal. What is WRONG with me? It's just a diary. It's just a diary. It's just a diary.

She handed Zarif her diary and faced Jeena again.

"Morticia?" she heard Zarif say. She turned back to him, feeling a little warm even though it was pretty cold. "Morticia, as in Morticia Adams?"

Morticia shook her head and said, "That's what they call me. My name is Moira Seraphim."

Zarif then turned around and started copying the timetable down. As soon as Morticia thought it was safe, she gave Jeena angry looks and started shouting at her in sign language behind Zarif's back.

Just when Morticia's arm was flying in the air trying to show her frustration to Jeena, Zarif turned around and Morticia noticed his silky hair sway on his sparkling eyes picturesquely. Her hand stopped in mid-air and she suddenly felt herself a little too warm for her sweater.
