Chapter 1.4

"I'll tell you what happened," Leena said, sounding vexed, "in French period, Zarif said that he had made friend with Jeena, and everyone thinks that he's made her his girl friend. I think all of us heard him say friend and not girlfriend. But nooooooooo. Everyone is just freaking for no reason at all."

Morticia started laughing and then stopped mid-way. "What did you say?" she said, "I do NOT have a huge crush on him. Have you lost your marbles?"

And then began the debate over whether Morticia had a crush on Zarif or not with Jeena for the motion, Morticia against the motion and Leena the bored audience till they finally realized that they ought to be in class and Leena had to force the two to go to class.

As soon as they entered the class room, they were greeted by Isha whispering furiously into Antara's ear. Leena leaned a little forward so she could eve's drop on their 'little whispering conversation', as she explained to Jeena and Morticia's questioning looks.

Morticia and Jeena looked at the various weird expressions that cannot be described in words (How do you describe a frown, a weird knowing smile and a few eye-brow wiggles?) and tried to figure out what she was hearing. But just a few moments later, Isha and Antara noticed Leena and stopped their gossip. They looked at Leena up and down rudely and shook their heads as they were walking away. But before they could leave Leena said under her breath "Ever had a life of your own?" which stopped them because, unfortunately 'under-the-breath' was a little too loud.

"What did you say?" Isha asked folding her arms in front of her chest.

"Don't you people have lives of your own?" Leena asked out loud now.

"What are you talking about?"

"I am talking about you talking about Jeena. You really need a life of your own if you're talking about anything as good as rubbish as what you're talking about is."

"Well, you know what," Isha replied, "it is none of your business. So buzz off." Instead of the word 'buzz' though, she said something else.

"Unfortunately for you Isha," Leena replied shouting, Leena was obviously furious now," it is. It is very much my business because she is my FRIEND."

At this, Isha and Antara started laughing. Leena's eyebrow went up. That meant that it was now time for either Morticia or Jeena to interfere or things could get bad. No, she wouldn't hit them worse. She would scream on top of her voice ad the teachers would get to her. This had happened once two years ago. She had come crying to the two of them after her encounter with the teacher. She had shouted at her partner, Hitesh (who, thankfully, was no more in their section) because he had asked her to change her seat for the tenth time that day and she had no other seat to go to.
