We Live To Hail Thy Efforts

They ruled the past- our great legends
Serving this country met their ends;
To grow wisdom, reared us sane
For joys to gain

The working hands, the turning wheels,
The sailing ships, the growing deals,
The flying planes are set to light
Up the world bright

Then,
What tide does rise that keeps at bay
Our incentives to sail away?
Why in this youth we go astray?
What makes us stay?

Our land, our ship, once was robbed
By pirates cruel; people sobbed
But yet in times hard they fought
And freedom sought!

Must not our heads in reverence bow?
Let’s not their lives in vain go!
Let’s sail towards the horizon yond;
Far far beyond.
